NEWSFLASH

 NEWS

  •
  • The project to re-seal the northern hangar taxiways, from Taxiway "N" to Taxiway "YZ", has been completed, exactly on schedule. Thanks to John Duncan (with a little help from Vic Laybutt) for a successful outcome.
  •
  • Please be aware that the taxiway project has resulted in some loose stones on the main north/south taxiway. The re-sealing of this taxiway (and also the refreshing of the southern taxiways with carbonyte) will be done later on this year.
  •
  • "Wings over Illawarra" last Sunday attracted more visitors than ever before, with a good attendance by SAC members. Phil Ayrton and his SAAA crew should be recognized for their involvement with the event.
  •
  • Nominations close for the new Committee in about a week and a half (Sunday 14th). Spare nomination forms are available in the Clubhouse, and an electronic version will be sent our with next week's Newsflash.
  •
  • If aspiring committee members would like to write a few words telling us why they would like to serve on the Committee and what they stand for we would be happy to broadcast their message by Special Newsflash at any time from now up until the elections.
  •
  • Dave Rolfe (CFI) is conducting a course and examination on "Human Factors", the completion of which is a mandatory requirement for all R A Aus pilots. The course and exam will happen on 13th March at the Oaks Airfield, starting at 10am, at a cost of $40 per student. You must let Dave know as soon as possible if you wish to take part in the course. Call Dave on 0414 740 766, or 4777 4566 for a booking and for further details.

Become a member of the NSW Sports Aircraft Club Inc. and enjoy the general experience of belonging to a club dedicated to the private ownership of aircraft and to the comradeship of the aviation fraternity. Wedderburn was founded as an inexpensive venue for members to fly, house their aircraft and fraternize with aviation minded people. And it continues to adhere to those principals today. So ideally it is the Flying Club there for your pleasure---- not simply a place to park your aircraft. Joining information can be found here.
